The Eyes of the Child

In
the eyes of the child
filled with wonder and joy,
 I see
all that is good and noble in man.

In
its stumbling steps
and fumbling words,
I see
the unshakable,
the spirit of striving;

In
the curiosity of his eyes,
I see
a never-ending search for truth.

In
his unending questions
I see
 the mind of the universe,
discovering itself.

In
unyielding stubborness,
I see
the desire to be free.

In
his untaught laughter,
I see
all that is worth living for.
